PILATES

Why Pilates?

A primary focus of Pilates is strengthening core muscles—those that run along the front of the spine. Having a strong core is an important part of injury prevention, and allows you to get the most out of other exercise intended to strengthen your arms, legs and back.

The fluid movements in Pilates are easy for anyone, at any fitness level, to achieve. They can also be advanced in difficulty, as you grow in strength and capability. Because of this, Pilates is a perfect compliment to traditional physical therapy treatments and exercise programs. In some cases, insurance may cover the cost of a Pilates exercise plan, when it is an integral part of your physical therapy program.
